Having trouble linking a MagicBand to my ticket. I was able to link MagicBands for others in my party to their tickets. It doesn't show my ticket as an option. I can pull up my ticket bar code in the app. Any suggestions?

Hi there, Melissa! I'm so glad you've brought your question to us, here at planDisney!

Gawrsh! I'm sure sorry to hear you've had a hard time pairing your MagicBand+ with your ticket! But, I think I have some suggestions to get some of these wrinkles ironed out before your next visit. You may have already tried a few of these things, but let's start at the beginning and see if one of these suggestions helps:

    • First, I suggest you ensure that both your Disneyland mobile app and your MagicBand+ software are running the latest version. You can find more details about the MagicBand+ software updates in the Disneyland app by navigating to the "MagicBand+" icon.
    • Don't forget to ensure that your MagicBand+ has been charged with enough battery life to complete pairing and linking to your device.
    • Occasionally, I have seen that Guests have issues when attempting to link a MagicBand+ that has already been linked to another account. You can use that same "MagicBand+" icon in the app to unlink it from one person's account, which will free it up to be linked to yours.
    • Then, you can follow the regular set-up instructions to link your MagicBand+ to your own admission ticket or pass, using your smartphone device.
    • The support page for MagicBand+ on the Disneyland official website is also very helpful for some troubleshooting tips, including how to perform a factory reset on your MagicBand+.
    • I've also had success reaching out to speak with a Cast Member using the chat feature in the Disneyland mobile app. You can find this by selecting the '≡' button on the app home screen and then scrolling down to "Chat with Us." The chat feature even allows you to identify if you need tech support related to your account or your MagicBand+. You can also reach out by phone to Guest Services or visit one of the Guest Relations locations once you've arrived on site.
I hope this gives you a few different directions to help you work through any remaining glitches, Melissa. It is so fun to experience the Disneyland Resort with your MagicBand+ so I hope you can successfully get it linked up for your next visit. You'll love the surprise interactions with the new Disney100 medallions throughout the theme parks! If we can help with anything else in the meanwhile, please don't hesitate to reach out again.

Until then, I'm wishing you Wondrous Journeys!
