Hello! We are having the trip of a lifetime at Disneyworld in February (less than 60 days away!). We are staying onsite. My question - are extra magic hours worth it? Or, should we avoid that park on extra magic hours days to avoid extra crowds?

    Hi Laura!

I'm beyond excited for you! How can I not be knowing you have planned your trip of a lifetime at Walt Disney World Resort? I love it!

This seems like such a simple question but there are so many things to think about. My family and I love Extra Magic Hours! It's amazing how many attractions you can experience in a short time. The theme parks can get a bit more crowded on those days but you are also going at a great time of the year with regards to the typical crowd level.

When my kiddos were younger, the morning Extra Magic Hours were perfect for us. We arrived at park opening and experienced all of the attractions on our must do list in a few short hours. We would then head back to our Disney Resort hotel to rest, relax and recharge for the evening or next day. As my kiddos enter their tween years, those morning Extra Magic Hours are getting a bit more challenging as my kiddos aren't always extremely elated about waking up so early. They now really enjoy the evening Extra Magic Hours.

Do you have a Park Hopper option on your theme park tickets? When we are visiting a theme park during Extra Magic Hours, we typically start or finish the day at a different theme park.

My family and I are currently planning our next Walt Disney World Resort vacation as well. We have a mixture of some days with Extra Magic Hours and some days without. While I would love to go go go the entire time, I know it's also magical to rest and recharge so we can all enjoy every magical moment we have together.

I know this answer has been all over the place. I encourage you to think about everyone in your traveling party. Are they early birds or night owls? Yes, you will be at Walt Disney World Resort so everyone will be excited and will want to experience as much as possible. Just be sure you make realistic plans that truly help to make this your trip of a lifetime.

I love your question so much! Thank you for sharing it with the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Please let me know if you need any other information as you plan your magical trip of a lifetime!
