Having never stayed at a Disney resort- how do you find and get to your room? We fly in then use Magic Express to get to All Star Music. It looks daunting, I like to have some idea where, how and how long when I go new places.

    Hi Lacey,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As one who needs time to get my spatial bearings, I can empathize with your dilemma!

Prior to arrival, I always review a resort map - printable resort map images can be found online on various sites. I usually pull up the ones that are the easiest to read and have all of the buildings clearly labeled. Before we arrive, I call to request a room location that is closest to the main dining area. At Disney's All-Star Music Resort, being close to the main dining area will get you close to the transportation pick-up spot also.

I also suggest that you do online check-in. With online check-in, we receive a text message alert when our room is ready. I have often received these alerts before we actually arrived to the resort hotel. When I receive the alert, I check the assigned room against a resort map. If the room is not in the location I requested, I call the number listed in the text message and ask if it is possible to get another room in our requested location. Most often, cast members have been able to get us in our preferred location if we were willing to wait for the room a little longer.

Once you arrive at the resort and check-in with a cast member, the cast member will also give you a resort map and will explain how to get to your room. I will be honest. We have gotten those directions, thought we understood and then could not quite get to the room, so we stopped to ask another cast member. There are always cast members working on property that are happy to help lost souls!

Lacey, resort hotels can be expansive, so I am thrilled to see that you are planning. At the All-Star resorts, it has only taken me a few minutes to get to the main dining area from my room so make your room location request and double-check it!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
