I am having a really hard time deciding between the dining plan and the deluxe. Last time we went we had the dining plan and had left over but we were always watching where we ate. Would it be better?

Hi Crystal! This is always one of the hardest decisions about a Disney vacation. Deciding on your resort is first and then choosing the meal plan. I generally suggest the regular plan as it is a happy medium in dining between the deluxe and the quick service. However, it is not fun when you are constantly watching where you are making your dining reservations because you don't want to go over on credits. If you prefer and enjoy many of the signature restaurants or the character dining experiences that take more then one credit then I do suggest going for the top plan. You likely will still have left over credits as most families cannot eat both breakfast and lunch as well as a table service dinner daily.

We have done the deluxe in the past and honestly it was just too much food for us. But many families like the three meals a day and can handle it. You certainly do a lot of walking in the parks which helps not always feeling full. My personal plan on this would be to get the regular plan and just pay for the extra meals when needed. But our family doesn't just do signature dining and we only do maybe one character or special dining experience per trip. We like to do breakfast in the room and our snacks are minimum. The regular works for us as we pay for the meal or meals that won't fit into the plan.

It is a tough decision. I think you are right in between both. Plan your dining wishes and see how many credits each restaurant will need and then make your decision. Depending on your dining preferences the deluxe might work best for you overall.
