    Having some post-vaca blues, need to start planning next yr! AKL is home resort.Would you advise booking there at 11mth point (in a few days), then try to switch to BLT at 7 mths? Loved AKL but want to try others too! Want to figure out best way to do it!

    I hear ya' regarding those post-vacation blues!

    You have a great idea in booking your next stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge at your 11 month window. Then exactly on the day that your 7 month window opens up for other resorts, call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 and switch over to Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

    Book your AKL accommodations with an eye on the points required. Take a look at what you're primary goal would cost in points, at BLT, and be sure to book a stay which costs fewer points. This won't be tough because if you book similar accommodations at each resort, most BLT stays require more points. This will prevent you from having to worry about having points booked in the original reservation put into holding, which would happen if your second reservation required fewer points than the first. Best to simply avoid that. In looking at both resorts' 2013 Points Charts, assuming the studio / villa sizes are the same between each reservation, as well as the number of nights of stay, you'll only have to be sure not to book either a Savannah View or Concierge Level Villa at AKL if you'll later switch to a Standard View at BLT, which would be several points fewer. (I used a 1-BDRM, during Magic Season, for a week as an example, so be sure to compare points for the specific accommodations of each location before reserving at AKL.)

    Should your choice of Bay Lake Tower not be available at the 7-month window, ask to be put on the Wait List; we've had great luck with our Wait Listed stays, with our requests working out perfectly all but one time.

    As much as you loved AKL, you're going to love BLT, too! They are so very different from each other, but each has a wonderful ambiance and unique features all its own. Good luck! I know you can do it! :-)
