Welcome to planDisney, Diana!
I am so happy to hear from a fellow Jedi! I had the incredible opportunity of visiting
Savi’s Workshop in January with 8 of my family members! It was an unforgettable journey! But, as you can imagine, with 8 Jedi wielding their sabers, we ran into a few minor “glitches”. I’m hopeful that I can help you troubleshoot to fix the Sith interference with your custom saber.
The very first thing that comes to mind is that your blade is not properly inserted into the hilt. I’d encourage you to try removing the blade from the hilt completely, and then to reinsert it firmly. (To remove: Press the blade firmly into the hilt, twist, and then pull outward. To insert: Press the blade firmly into the hilt, twist, and then release your hand from the blade.) We had a few blades that just needed a firm reset like this, and then they worked like new!
You can also try removing and reinserting your Kyber Crystal by loosening the two pieces above and below the ignition switch. This will allow you to remove the two plates containing the ignition switch. From there, you can remove your Kyber Crystal completely and then reinsert it (making sure to keep the larger end of the Kyber Crystal pointing up toward the blade). After reassembling the ignition switch plates and tightening the hilt, try igniting your lightsaber to see if that fixed the problem!
If, after removing and reinserting your blade from the hilt and removing and reinserting your Kyber Crystal, you find that the blade is still not operating at its full potential, you may need to purchase a new blade. These are
available on shopDisney.com! As lightsabers often need upkeep, especially after tumultuous battles, having an additional blade or two is always a good idea!
The final issue that could be plaguing your lightsaber is a faulty Kyber Crystal. I highly doubt this is the issue because you are hearing the sounds of the Force and seeing a flicker. (When we had a malfunctioning Kyber Crystal, there were no sounds, and no light.) However, as every Kyber Crystal is unique, you may need to look at unearthing another Crystal if all other avenues fail. These Crystals can be found and
mined on the
planet Amazon.com and sometimes make an appearance in the
galactic system of
shopDisney.com!
I hope this helps you, Diana! I’m sending you all of the good Force vibes as you navigate the repair of your lightsaber! If you have additional questions, we’d be thrilled to hear from you again!
