I am having a hard time with two different things. First off WL or Contemporary? WL is cheaper and looks beautiful but I like that the Contemporary is on the monorail. May or September? When are there less crowds? I am looking for more mild weather.

    Hello Kelley,

Thanks for coming over to the Moms Panel to get our opinions. I can understand wanting to make the best decision for your family in regards to when to travel to Walt Disney World Resort and where to stay. These two planning points are often the hardest choices yet the most important ones. I hope I can offer my suggestions based on experience and preference.

I will let you know that Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my absolute favorite Walt Disney World resort. I love the majestic beauty of its lobby, restaurants and rooms and the location is just right. Yes, being on the monorail line is a fantastic plus, but Wilderness Lodge is not that much farther and depending on the time of day, it might actually be a wash since the monorail lines could be longer than the ones for the boats. The travel times by bus to the other parks are almost identical from Disney's Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge. I also like how the Wilderness Lodge seems a little more serene and quiet all tucked back just a bit. Last, but not least, the Whispering Canyon Cafe is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. It combines hearty and delicious food with entertaining service and all-around good times.

In regards to choosing the best time of year, both of those are good choices since they both fall during times when crowd levels are lower. May is great because the spring break season is over, but summer trips have not yet begun and the weather is quite nice. September is just as those summer vacations are ending and the fall breaks are still a few weeks away. However, September, can be much warmer and humid, in my opinion.

I really hope my advice or suggestions can offer some insight so you can plan the ultimate trip to this magical place.
