Hi Devon, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting to be planning your
"Disneymoon" at the Most Magical Place on Earth! My husband and I spent our first few days as a married couple at the Walt Disney World Resort, and I can't think of a better way to start your own Happily Ever After.
I know you want everything to be practically perfect on your honeymoon, Devon, so let's see if we can come up with some ideas you might like. I just did a quick search on the
My Disney Experience app for the second day of your trip, April 14th, and I'm seeing a few options you could consider, like
The Wave...of American Flavors at Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Trattoria al Forno at Disney's BoardWalk, along with a few at
Disney Springs like Raglan Road, STK Orlando, and Paddlefish. Here's a tip that might help in your search. If you're selecting a general time frame like "Dinner" and coming up empty, try searching for specific times instead. I wasn't getting any results when I searched "Dinner" just now, but when I searched 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., that's when some options popped up. Sometimes the opposite is true, too. If you can't find a specific time, try the general mealtime. I don't know why it works that way, but sometimes the pixie dust has to fall just right!
Also, if you're trying to reserve a certain restaurant and not having any luck, be creative! For instance, if you can't find a time for dinner at
California Grill, you can try to visit the lounge, which is available first-come, first-served without a reservation. Raise a toast to each other with a gorgeous view of the Magic Kingdom Park, and then nibble from the menu or grab dinner somewhere else. And don't discount Disney Springs! Take in a water view from the dockside tables at
The BOATHOUSE, grab a charcuterie board and some glasses of Frose' from
The Basket at Wine Bar George for a picnic, munch on some of the best fried chicken and deviled eggs you've ever had at
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', or roll on up to
Splitsville Luxury Lanes for lots of great food and fun! I'm sure you'll find something you'll love to share with your love.
And remember, keep trying! Guests often change their plans, so you never know when the restaurant you were hoping for might come available. You can also try a reservation finder on a third-party site like Touring Plans, which will search for openings and alert you so you can hop online and grab that reservation!
Wherever you happen to dine, I hope your honeymoon is filled with magic and love. Please come see us again if you have any more questions, and best wishes from your friends at planDisney!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
