Having a hard time deciding whether or not to upgrade resorts. Have resv. at AS fam suite. Since kids are old enough to stay at park all day do you think its worth it? Thought of trying something new? Looking into Beach or Yacht Club? Any advice.

Hi Michelle!  I love all of the resorts on Walt Disney World property, they are so much fun!  We stay at different resorts in different price ranges all the time.  The deciding factor for me is how much time are we really planning on being at the resort.  Some vacations we schedule 2 pool and relaxing days.  If that is something we are planning on then I will look into a moderate or deluxe resort.  If we are going to the parks everyday with no downtime, I will typically book a value or moderate resort.  It saves money for us doing it that way.  If we are only in the room to sleep, I don't feel like we need to stay at a deluxe resort because we will not be taking advantage of all the amenities we would be paying for.

In order to make the right decision for your family, I suggest taking a look at what you have planned.  If you have some downtime to spend at the resorts, then Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort would be great options for you to explore.  If you don't think you want to take time away from the parks on this vacation, then I suggest staying where you are at.  It is a great resort.  If you don't upgrade, you could always schedule a meal at Cape May Cafe which is at Disney's Beach Club Resort.  Breakfast and dinner are amazing but I am partial to the dinner.  That would be a great way to scope out the resort and see if it would be right for you on your next Walt Disney World vacation.

I hope I've helped you in your decision.  If you have any other questions about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation, feel free to ask!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
