We are having a hard time deciding if we want to purchase the dining plan or not. Does it really save more money if we purchase the plan vs just going at on our own?

    Hi Erica,

My family purchases the  Disney Dining Plan on almost every trip, and we've found that it saves us a considerable amount of money. We purchase the "Plus Dining" and it works well for us because we enjoy eating one Table Service Meal per day. To really get your money's worth, you should plan to book your Advanced Dining Reservations up to 180 days ahead. This will ensure that you'll be able to eat at some of the best restaurants. Hint: Choose ones that use 1 entitlement instead of 2 and look over the menus. As you are doing the math, you'll see how it saves money. Dinner at Chef Mickey's, for example, is about $35.99 per adult. When you consider that the Dining Plan is currently $42.99 per person, and you also get a Quick Service (valued at approximately $10 per adult) plus a snack worth $4, you are saving $8 per adult (per day) with that example. Again, to get your moneys worth, be sure to choose the Dining Plan that best suits your family.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful vacation.
