having a hard time deciding between AoA & Caribbean Beach. the little mermaid rooms are going to be new & colorful but the pirate rooms seem neat & will appeal to both kids(2&7) any advice to help chose between the two would be great, thank

    Hi Jessica!

What a hard decision between two fabulous Walt Disney World Resorts!

Price-wise, with Art of Animation being a Value Resort and Caribbean Beach being a Moderate Resort there's a difference if budget is a concern. Both resorts have a great, kids' splash area for tots at the feature pool. Both resorts also have a great food court area with a multitude of dining choices.

A plus for Caribbean Beach is that there is also a water slide at the feature pool which your 7 year old would likely enjoy. Caribbean Beach also has a Table Service Restaurant, Shutters at Old Port Royale, featuring Caribbean-inspired cuisine and American fare with tropical twists.

You'll find that the distance from your Pirate themed resort room to the feature pool area at Caribbean Beach will be a bit of a walk, or you will be able to take the internal shuttle bus, as there are multiple bus stops throughout this beautiful property which is situated around "Barefoot Bay."

Art of Animation on the other hand, has just one bus stop and is more compactly laid out, with short walks through the resort property to access the one bus depot, dining and feature pools.

I stayed in a Pirate Room a few years ago with my little Buccaneers and the themeing was truly great! My kids were about 6 and 9 at the time so we didn't mind the walk to the feature pool area which they also greatly enjoyed. Having just toured the new Art of Animation Resort, I have to say, it's truly spectacular. The attention to detail throughout, really makes you feel immersed right inside some of your favourite Disney animated films. It's a very hard decision to make!

I hope some of this info helps you decide. If I can be of further assistance, don't hesitate to write me back with more questions!

Wishing you a Magical time planning your next Walt Disney World vacation Jessica!
