We are having our first disney experience this year in March. While we are there my daughter will have her 5th birthday. I was just wondering if there was anything extra special I would be able to book or do, to make it extra special please???

    Hi Emma,

What a great trip for your daughter - her first trip to Walt Disney World and a birthday celebration! The experience of being at Walt Disney World for her birthday will be magical. There are a few things you can do to sprinkle a little extra Pixie Dust on her birthday.

For no additional cost, be sure to get a birthday button for your daughter to wear. These buttons are available at Guest Relations at any theme park. Wearing the button around a park is amazing - many cast members and even other guests will wish her a happy birthday. Sometimes your daughter might get a little extra treat when she is wearing the birthday button, but you shouldn't expect this. I remember my daughter's look of amazement on her seventh birthday when a server at The Plaza Restaurant brought her out a special cupcake after seeing her birthday button! Also, be sure to indicate on your dining reservations and your reservations at the resort that it is your daughter's birthday. Again, you shouldn't expect anything as a result, but it you may get a little surprise here or there.

For another option, you can contact Disney Floral and Gifts by visiting Disney Floral and Gifts have gifts ranging from inexpensive to very elaborate. They have pre-made packages, or if you call them at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438), they will work with you to personalize your gift. We had a Minnie Mouse plush holding balloons waiting for our daughter on her seventh birthday! A final idea is to get a cake. You can arrange this by calling the Disney Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253.  Visit the site and search for "cake" for information on how this works. Walt Disney World can send a simple cake or a very elaborate one. We had a Minnie Mouse head-shaped chocolate cake delivered to our resort room for our daughter's birthday.

I hope this gives you ideas for your daughter's birthday, Emma. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
