Hi there, Roy! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
42 family members having a magical reunion at the Walt Disney World Resort?! That is what I call a party! I’m so excited four your family to be together, making so many memories and sharing special moments. I can’t think of a better place for this epic together time you have planned.
Okay, let’s talk about Resort Refillable Mugs, also known as Rapid Fill mugs. These mugs are available for purchase at select
Walt Disney World Resort hotel Quick-Service dining locations and can be refilled with coffee, tea, cocoa, and fountain beverages at resort hotel Quick-Service locations for the length of your stay. (If you’ll be on a
Disney Dining Plan, each Guest on the plan will receive a mug.) In my experience, there are different designs available at different resort hotels – sometimes, the designs feature the names of a group of resort hotels, or, more recently, there have been Pixar and classic Mickey themed mugs available in the resorts. There may also be holiday mugs available.
The mugs can be purchased once you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort; at the time of purchase, the Cast Member activating the mug will scan your
MagicBand, thus activating the length of stay usage dates and auto-magically making the mugs work at the beverage islands. At this time, the mugs cannot be pre-purchased, except when you’re adding a Disney Dining Plan to your reservation.
At this time,
Annual Passholder and
Disney Vacation Club discounts are not applicable for Resort Refillable Mug purchases.
Roy, I visited the Walt Disney World Resort with a party of 14, and 9 of us were staying together in one
deluxe villa. We all had Resort Refillable Mugs, and this trick was a lifesaver for knowing whose mug was whose: when purchasing mugs of the same design, make sure you have different colored lids. Then, carefully snap the lids apart (they are made of two pieces) and mix and match the colors – so, one person might have a red lid with a blue insert, and another has a blue lid with a red insert. Especially when it comes to kiddos who sound like the seagulls from Finding Nemo (Mine! Mine! Mine!), this trick came in so handy!
I hope your family reunion is just incredible, Roy!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
