I am having a family reunion of 10 including 2 "older than 65" people and 1 younger than 10. Can I bring a picnic blanket to sit during the firework show?

    Hi Familia,

A family reunion at Walt Disney World sounds like an amazing way to spend the holidays! My family has great memories of watching Wishes with our extended family on a number of similar vacations.

You can bring a small blanket to sit on during the show. We've used a beach towel in the past to cushion the curb or paved spot where we were sitting to watch fireworks or a parade.

A couple of things to note, though, before you pack: You won't be allowed to block any walkways or inhibit other guests' ability to find a viewing spot. I expect you will find most of the guests around you will be standing to watch the fireworks shows, especially in the hub area in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom and on Hollywood Boulevard at Hollywood Studios, so sitting on a blanket might not be optimal.

You also may want to think about how much you want to carry with you all day as you enjoy the parks, especially since the crowds will be heavy during this holiday period.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Please let us know if we can help with any other planning tips before your visit. Enjoy your time with your family!
