While having a discussion with my grandson about what to pack for our upcoming Disney Cruise, he asked me if he could bring his light saber with him. What are DCL's guidelines for costumes on their cruises? Thanks, Rita

    Ahoy, Rita!

Thanks for cruising by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I'm so happy to hear you're planning an out-of-this-world Disney Cruise Line vacation with your Star Wars-loving grandson. I'm sure he's bouncing off the walls with excitement about his upcoming adventure with Captain Mickey and his crew! There are so many things to see and do on a Disney Cruise, and lots of fun activities for all ages.

As you may know, Disney Cruise Line hosts Pirate Night on most all of their sailings. Toy swords are a must for any little buccaneer, and you will see young cruisers with them all over the ship. You'll find toy swords and a large assortment of pirate gear available for purchase in the onboard shops.

Just like a pirate needs his sword, a Jedi needs his light saber! Store-bought, toy light sabers are more than welcome on your Disney ship. Tell your little Padawan that he can pack his light saber with no worries!

I hope you and your grandson have the most magical Disney Cruise Line vacation ever. Please let us know if you have any more questions before you set sail - we're happy to help! - Diane W.
