Hey there, hi there, Boon! Sending you a warm welcome from sunny Southern California! Your trip to the Disneyland Resort is less than two months away, and since you’re quite literally coming from the other side of the world, we better get a move on helping you secure those tickets!
I have some answers for you, Boon, and they’re a bit mixed: The great news is that you’re generally welcome to use a Disney Gift Card as your payment method for Disneyland Resort tickets! There are typically a couple of different options for how to do this, but that’s where the not-so-great part comes in. Since you’ll be visiting from Australia, there’s currently not an option to purchase Disneyland tickets online from your country. According to
Disneyland's Australian site, it is recommended that tickets be purchased through a travel agent. That will likely limit how you can use those Disney Gift Cards in this case.
But, let’s not lose hope just yet, Boon! There may be another way! I chatted with a friendly Disneyland Cast Member who shared that
a phone call to the Disneyland ticket support line might just do the trick! Even though it appears that you’re unable to purchase Disneyland tickets online from Australia, a Cast Member may be able to assist you over the phone. Just a little heads-up: Since you'll be calling from an international location, there may be some additional call charges on your phone bill. And, don't forget to add the U.S. country code, "1", before dialing the number!
If you'll be in the United States before your Disneyland visit,
buying tickets online should be an option. However, I'd strongly suggest trying the phone method first. Since Disneyland requires theme park reservations in advance, I wouldn't want you to miss out on your preferred dates due to reservation availability.
If you do decide to purchase your tickets online, just a heads-up: each transaction can only use one gift card. But don't you worry! A super helpful Disneyland Cast Member told me you can purchase across multiple transactions if needed. Just note, there's a limit of 10 tickets per day with this method. If your party is larger than the Seven Dwarfs, you might need to spread the purchasing magic across a few days.
Now, about those gift cards: You may be able to combine up to $1,000 from your separate cards into one super-powered gift card! This is a great way to avoid a whole bunch of separate transactions with smaller cards. Just visit the
Disney Gift Card website, click the "My Cards” button at the top, and sign into your Disney account. If your cards aren't already linked to your account, click "Add A Card" and enter the details for each one. Once they're all in there, you should see an option to transfer multiple balances to a single card.
Now, Boon, since you're coming to us from the land of sunshine and adorable animals, some of the links and options might be a tad different on your end, or might not be available at all. If you have any trouble adding your Disney Gift Cards or combining balances, don't hesitate to contact the Disney Gift Card team. Just click "Contact Us" at the top of the page to send a message.
So there you have it, Boon! A few different ways to help make those Disney Gift Cards work their magic for your Disneyland tickets. I hope this helps you get those tickets secured and your Disneyland adventure off to a fantastical start!
