I am having some confusion with rider switch. We are traveling with 3 adults and a 4 year old. Does the entire party have to have fast passes for the ride that we would like to use rider switch for? More information on this would be very useful!!!! Thanks!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda!

I think that Rider Switch is going to work really well for your family on your upcoming vacation. You're going to get the chance to ride all of your favorite attractions, even though your four-year-old isn't quite tall enough for some of them. Since you just made your advance dining reservations this past week, you're probably already thinking about FastPass+ selections, so let's chat about how to best use Rider Switch so you can start making your plans.

When you want to ride a participating attraction using Rider Switch, approach the podium and let a Cast Member know. You'll tap your MagicBand and be issued a Rider Switch return time and the first riding group can wait in the standby line while you stay back with your little one. If the first group wants to enter the attraction through the FastPass+ queue, everyone who will be riding the attraction will need a valid FastPass+, and a Cast Member may check for them when you tap your MagicBand to receive your return time. If the first group is happy to wait in the standby line, then no FastPass+ is required for anyone to use Rider Switch. When the first group is done riding, you can swap out who is looking after your kiddo and then the second riding group can enter the attraction through the FastPass+ queue using the Rider Switch entitlement. I think your party is the perfect size for using this service because the Rider Switch return time is good for up to three people, so someone can ride twice if they want to! Rider Switch has recently been integrated with My Disney Experience, so make sure to download the app before you go so you can keep track of all your plans.

I hope this answers your question, Amanda, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
