I havetheme park tickets for next month. I purchased a 2 Day ticket and then a few days later I decided to purchase a ticket for 1 more day. I now want to purchase a Magic Key pass. Can the tickets I haven't used yet be added to the Magic Key passes?

    Hi Lacey,

It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to hear that you have so many exciting Disney adventures coming up! And to hear that you're thinking about upgrading to a Magic Key pass is AWESOME! You'll have a blast enjoying The Happiest Place on Earth throughout all of the seasons!

I have some great and some not-quite-as-great news for you. The great news is that you'll be able to apply the value of one of your tickets to a Magic Key pass! To do so, you'll simply want to use the Disneyland mobile app to upgrade your ticket on or before the last day of your ticket! If you want to upgrade it prior to your visit, you'll be able to stop by a ticket booth where a friendly Cast Member will be happy to take care of that for you. The not-quite-as-great news is that you'll only be able to apply the value of one ticket to your upgrade; you won't be able to combine two tickets to upgrade to a Magic Key pass. Don't forget, though, that you never lose the value you've spent on a ticket, and you have several options for what to do with that ticket. Recently purchased one-day tickets are valid until December 30, 2022, so you could hang on to it and use it yourself after your Magic Key pass has expired (although you may need to upgrade the tier depending on the day you'd like to use it). Or, you could let a fellow Mouseketeer use it and visit along with you sometime! It's okay if the name on the ticket doesn't match the Guest who wants to use it. Tickets don't become non-transferrable until they're used for the first time.

As you're thinking about your magical year as a Magic Key holder, I'd encourage you to bookmark both the access calendar page as well as the page that describes all the wonderful discounts and perks! I'd also recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all of the latest news and announcements. You'll find seasonal happenings, Foodie Guides that will make your mouth water, and updates about new services like Disney Genie, which is launching sometime this fall.

Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Lacey, and don't hesitate to stop by any time you have a Disney-planning question! I hope you have a truly magical year celebrating beloved Disney traditions and discovering new favorites as a Magic Key holder!
