Hi! We haven't been to the park in 15 years are having trouble deciding where to stay etc. It will be hubby,me and our 6yr old.Where is the best place to stay and meet all the characters with out having to walk too much?

    Hi, Kristine!

Since you want to meet characters and be close to theme parks, how about a wonderful stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort. You don't even have to leave the Tower of this Deluxe Resort to meet Mickey and his Pals at Chef Mickey's. They sure serve up a wonderful buffet!

From the Contemporary, you are about a 10 minute walk to the front gates of the Magic Kingdom. You can even hop on the monorail inside the resort, and with a quick switch of monorails at the TTC, you will be on your way to Epcot.  Bus transportation is available to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

For a resort with very little walking, try Port Orleans French Quarter. Book a standard room which will put you near transportation. All parks from this Moderate Resort can be reached by bus. Building 4 is the closest to the bus stop.

Character Meet and Greets are available at all the theme parks, but booking a character meal is the easiest way to see them as they will come right to your table for autographs and pictures. Besides Chef Mickey's, you might also enjoy the Garden Grill at Epcot (Chip and Dale) or Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom (Pooh and Friends).

I hope this gives you some ideas as you begin planning your magical vacation. Have a great time with your family in Walt Disney World!
