We haven’t been there since fast passed. What are the options now? What is this lightning lane?

Hi Angela! Exploring the best options for experiencing attractions in the Disney Parks is an important part of planning! You are correct that Fast Pass is no longer available at the Walt Disney World Resort. However, there is “a whole new world” of ways for Guests to experience the attractions!

Guests can now purchase Lightning Lanes! Lightning Lanes allow Guests to skip the traditional standby line and have shorter wait times for attractions! There are two options for Lightning Lanes. There is Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. When Guests purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, they can select three initial attractions to experience in the park. Then, as you use your Lighting Lane Multi Passes, you can “grab” new ones throughout the day. In other words, each time you use one, you can select another attraction (pending attraction availability). Lightning Lane Single Pass allows Guests to select one Lightning Lane attraction to experience with a shorter wait time. Guests can purchase Lightning Lanes through their My Disney Experience app. Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can purchase Lightning Lanes seven days before their vacation arrival date. All other Guests can purchase their Lightning Lanes three days before their visit to the theme parks.

Angela, you will also find something new known as virtual queues. A virtual queue allows Guests to secure an assigned group number to know when to report to an attraction. Virtual queues are currently available for two attractions – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (EPCOT) and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (Magic Kingdom Park). Guests can secure a group number in the virtual queue using their My Disney Experience account. Virtual queue group numbers can be secured at two times of the day – 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Virtual queues are free of charge!

These tips should be helpful in getting to experience all of the magical attractions on your wish list!

    Dreams do come true!
