We haven't been to Disney World since 2015. Can you tell me the difference between Extra Magic Hours (free to resort guests) & Disney After Hours (which looks like there's a charge). I'm not quite sure if we now have to pay to stay late?

    Hi Janelle,

So excited to know you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort soon. There's been so many changes throughout all Theme Parks, that is why my family and I keep on coming back year after year.

One of the many Disney Resort Hotel Guest Benefits, is Extra Magic Hours. Each day, one of the four Theme Parks will open one hour earlier or close two hours later, exclusively for Guests of select hotels. This gives you more time to enjoy many of your favorite attractions, with little or no wait.

On select days, Special Events are offered which require separate admission, such as Disney After Hours, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. These also give you more chances to play with little or no wait, but each one offers some unique opportunities as well.

One last tip: remember to check the Park Hours calendar a few weeks before your vacation starts, as they are subject to change. And pick up a copy of the up-to-date Time Guides, once you check into your Resort hotel. Happy planning!
