Welcome to planDisney, Tammie! How exciting that you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World this spring. April is such a great time to visit!
Since it's been a while since your last trip, you're in for some magical surprises because so much has been added in the past few years. If you love thrill rides, don't miss
TRON Lightcycle /Run at Magic Kingdom or
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Both are incredible additions that bring a whole new level of excitement to those parks!
Since it's been a while for you, I'm happy to help you figure out how to use your
ticket and whether or not you need a park reservation. First, not all tickets require a park reservation. Date-based tickets (the most common type of admission) do not require a reservation, while some other ticket types, like annual passes and certain special offers, still do. The best way to check is to link your e-ticket to
My Disney Experience using the ticket number or confirmation number you received. Once it's linked, visit the
park reservations page and try selecting a park and date. If the system lets you book a reservation, you'll need one. If it doesn't, your ticket is most likely a date-based ticket, meaning you can head straight to the park on the day of your visit!
If you're unsure what type of ticket you have, you can always
call the Disney ticketing hotline and speak with a Cast Member, who can look up your ticket and confirm the details for you.
As for buying tickets at the park, yes, you can purchase them at the ticket booths, but I highly recommend buying in advance through the Disney website or My Disney Experience app so you can secure your preferred ticket type and avoid any last-minute hiccups.
I hope this helps, Tammie, and let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
