We haven't chosen a date for our visit yet, if we go during an "off season" when crowds are lower will there be minimal character sightings and attractions open?

Karla, thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question. I'm so glad you did because I am here to tell you that even during the least crowed times at Walt Disney World, you will still see so many characters and maybe have even more fun on the attractions since the lines won't be as long.

While renovations or refurbishments throughout the parks need to happen from time to time to keep everything in tip-top shape, you would never go and feel that most of the attractions are "down" for maintenance. And, the characters are out in full swing year round! You will always be able to find these Disney "celebrities" here and there all over the parks.

The one case where the season can affect something being entirely down would be the water parks. They tend to close in the winter months simply due to the cooler temps. Although, the exact dates vary from year to year.

So, feel free to plan your magical vacation when it best suits you and don't feel your vacation would be any less pixie-dusted if you go "off season"!
