Hiya, Sheryl!
Taxes at
Walt Disney World is sort of a complicated issue. Prices can depend on where you stay, where you shop, and even where you get that Mickey ice cream bar.
Walt Disney World exists in two different counties in Florida. Most of it is in Orange County, but there's a chunk of it in Osceola County. Because the counties have different tax rates, the hotels are taxed at different rates, depending upon which hotel you choose. Most of the hotels are taxed at the Orange County rate of 12.5%, while
Disney's All-Star Resorts are taxed at the Osceola County rate of 13.5%.
There are taxes on the theme park tickets as well. Those are taxed at 6.5%.
Your best bet for accurate pricing, Sheryl, is to visit the website and price out your preferences. Chose a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, and price out the travel dates you're interested in, the type of room you want, and you can even add
theme park tickets to the package. You'll be able to get a full total without having to pay anything, and you'll be able to see how much options like the
Park Hopper Option and
Disney's Genie+ Service cost when you add it all up.
While you are in budgeting mode, keep in mind that the Osceola County resorts will charge a higher sales tax - 7.5% - on taxable items like souvenirs and prepared food, so you can save one percent by doing your dining and shopping back in Orange County.
If we can help you plan in any other way, Sheryl, you're welcome back any time!
