Thanks for brining such a great question to planDisney, Kristen! It looks like you've got a visit coming up later this spring! That's so exciting! My family and I visited the Walt Disney World Resort since the new safety protocols have been put into place. I'm happy to share a little of our experience to help guide your own!
The Walt Disney World Resort has taken several
steps to help protect Guests and Cast Members! For example, Guests, ages two and older, are required to wear a face covering unless remaining stationary to enjoy a meal, snack, or drink. Guests will also see that physical distancing markers have been laid out around the
Disney Parks and
Disney Resort Hotels. These safety protocols certainly add to a Guest's "peace of mind" when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! I was impressed by the level of adherence to these and other safety protocols.
While you may see some form of "pedestrian traffic patterns," there are no requirements to follow a particular path or order from land-to-land within the parks. Guests are free to go about the Disney Parks in whatever order they prefer. This includes moving back and forth between lands within the park. The only pedestrian patterns that were noticeable were those for remaining physically distanced when waiting in a line or when entering or exiting a shopping or dining area.
I hope this information is helpful as you continue to plan your May visit! Feel free to bring more questions to planDisney! We're happy to help!
