Are hard sided coolers allowed in the parks? I thought it was only soft sided coolers allowed? I may be wrong.

    Hey there, Sarah!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm excited that you are already planning the details of your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!

Since Park Rules are often changing, I'm glad that you are making sure your items are allowed in the parks before arrival. Coolers, whether soft-sided or hard, are permitted but must be no larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high, and loose or dry ice is not permitted inside the coolers. I suggest frozen ice packs or "blue ice" containers. You may bring outside food and beverages with the exception of alcoholic beverages and glass containers, and keep in mind that your cooler will be searched by Cast Members at the security checkpoint when you enter. I suggest bringing a smaller cooler so that you can easily stow it in a convenient locker rental in the parks. I love these lockers, because you can access them all day for one low fee. It makes bringing your own food or snacks much easier when you don't have to carry them around while trying to soak up all the magic.

If you are looking for a great place to enjoy your food and beverages from home, I suggest dining at the Picnic Area located in the esplanade between both parks. I just love this little escape from the hustle and bustle and this charming location. Plus, there are even locker rentals RIGHT next to it to make it even easier for you enjoy your meals.

I hope this helps, and please return if you have any other questions. Have a magical day!
