    How hard is it to reserve additional hours of nursery care after we are on board, does it fill up very fast?

    Ahoy Leslie –
    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Planning ahead for Nursery time when cruising with a baby or toddler is essential for smooth sailing on Disney Cruise Line. Guests are allowed to reserve a certain amount of Nursery time prior to their cruise. This is vital in order to have the ability to schedule dining at Palo/Remy and to set aside time to relax in the Spa. Do not worry, Leslie, because there will be additional reservations available once you board the ship. My pirate cub spent the majority of his first 3 years sailing, and we would not have been able to do it without the Nursery. After exhausting all of my online Nursery hours, I usually go to the Nursery during Open House on the first day with my notebook in hand in order to make advance reservations for the entire voyage. Most of the time, I am able to get all of the time that I need. I have even taken my screaming toddler out of the Enchanted Garden Restaurant, picked up the phone in the hallway, and made same day on-the-spot reservations so that I could enjoy my dinner.  Of course availability will vary based on the number of cruising babies/toddlers who need the services, but like I mentioned before, I have never had a problem. The Youth Counselors were so great that sometimes when I dropped off my tiger cub, they would offer to extend his time there if space was available. My sea pup would eat dinner with us (20-minutes tops) then go off the Nursery until we picked him up at the end of the Broadway style shows. I am pretty sure I used about 25-30 hours of Nursery time on a 7-night cruise. Leslie, thanks for stopping by with your question and happy sailing to you!
