I am hard of hearing and background noise can be a huge issue for me. I'm wondering what the background noise levels are like in the dining rooms and if there are any suggestions that might make the dining situation easier for me.

    Hi there, Stephanie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited that you sailed by with your question about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation!  I hope you are eager and ready for an adventure filled with non-stop activities, top-notch entertainment, delicious food and MORE…because that is what awaits you when you step foot onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship!

I am so glad you asked this question and hopefully I can help you in taking appropriate steps to ensure that you have the most enjoyable experience while onboard.  To be completely honest, yes…often, the main dining rooms can be fairly noisy due to large groups, servers moving around and well…children!  But, if there is a concern that you may be negatively affected by the noise level then I can recommend one of two things for you to consider.  First off, if you are open to having second dining rotation, you may want to consider that as that seating is often less crowded than the early or main dining time.  But, that may not be an option for you – nor something you want to do – and that is totally fine as well.  In that case, I would recommend contacting Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent who made the reservation for you and asking that they note your reservation and can possibly assign you a table that is on the edge of the dining room or even tucked into a corner area to accommodate you best.  You definitely won’t miss out on any of the fun and interactive dining experiences by being on the edge of the room, so don’t be concerned about that!  Instead, this may reduce some of the background noise that the rooms inevitably have.  And, you know what – if you do get onboard and find yourself with an issue, be sure to speak to your dining room servers and head server to see if there is anything else they can do to accommodate you better.  Your dining room servers will follow you to the different restaurants each night, so they can easily be of assistance when needed.

I know you are going to have the most amazing time onboard and I am so excited for you and all the magical memories you will make during this vacation!

    Happy Sailing!
