How hard is it to do Disney World in July? Any tips?

Hi Nancy! This is a big question with lots of different answers and it depends on many things such as age of children, adults only, and exact dates in July.

Obviously the Florida weather is hot and humid during the summer months. The very young and the older guests might have difficulty lasting a whole day in a park. The humidity can zap your energy quickly so you need to always remember to keep everyone hydrated as much as possible. Bring lots of sunscreen and hats and remember that in the summer Florida gets the normal thunderstorms or rain at the end of each day so a poncho or umbrella is a necessity.

Mid day breaks to your resort pool are suggested so you are only in the parks in the mornings and then back in the cooler evenings. I also suggest one table service reservation each day which makes you sit down and relax and just get off your feet for an hour or so while you enjoy one of the great Disney restaurants. Be sure and make advanced dining reservations for your vacation.

Try to plan a vacation that is not around the 4th of July week if you are looking for a few less guests in the parks. This is the busiest week of the summer! I just returned from Disneyland and we were there during this holiday week. We opted for a VIP guide to help us navigate this west coast wonder and although it was quite expensive it was wonderful. It is an option you can do as well in Disney World if you feel you need the extra help!
