Hi Cristina,
Happy New Year to you as well and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this great question to us.
My family typically uses either the
Disney Dining Plan or the
Disney Deluxe Dining Plan and we love both plans! Dining plans are affiliated with the members of the party associated with a vacation package/resort reservation. Although dining plans are currently not transferable, guests utilizing a dining plan are allowed to use entitlements in any order they see fit so, for example, we could use four entitlements each on one day and two entitlements each on another day.
Having said that, if you have guests dining with you that are not on a dining plan, I would speak with the cast member who serves you at each restaurant to clarify how your dining plan entitlements may be used. Keep in mind that you can use your dining plan entitlements for private, in-room dining and pizza delivery. Just be certain to review the number and type of entitlements required for each when you order.
Cristina, I also always remind people that dining plan entitlements are calculated per night of stay. On our most recent stay in December, we stayed for seven nights and had 84 meal entitlements (21 per person) for the four of us. Had we been on the Disney Dining Plan, we would have received 56 (14 meal entitlements per person). I always do a chart to map out the number of dining plan entitlements we will actually use. This has been important because it has helped me to make sure we do not run out of meal entitlements before the day we checkout!
Sending pixie dust as you plan!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
