Hi Lorrie!
Thanks for bringing another question to planDisney –– helping you plan a magical experience for your family is what we're here to do! Just like you, I always want to know exactly what I'll be getting into before a vacation begins, especially when I'm managing the plans for a big group of people.
Scar might be the lion we all love to hate, but he knew what he was talking about when he said, "Be Prepared"!
I know how frustrating it can be when unexpected fees pop up during a vacation, but when it comes to
using your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points, "Hakuna Matata" really is your motto. Taxes and fees are included as part of the annual dues you pay, so you won't see any type of charge for these things on your hotel bill. In fact, I used my Points for a one-night stay at
Disney's Beach Club Villas last year and since I didn't charge anything to my room, there wasn't a single thing on my Guest Folio at checkout. No city taxes, no occupancy fees, nothing –– all I left with were the memories of a great night at EPCOT with friends and a happy wallet. The only way you should see a charge at checkout is if registered Guests charge purchases back to your room.
If you'd like to keep track of what has been charged to your room during your visit (to avoid any surprises at the end), you can do that right from the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Simply tap the three lines at the bottom of the screen and select "Resort Hotel" from the on-screen menu. Scroll down the screen until you see your room number and tap "View Charges" to see any charges and payments that have been made to your hotel account. Just be aware that you can only use this feature
before you've checked out of your room –– after checkout, you'll need to visit the front desk of your Resort for an itemized list.
Again, thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Lorrie. I hope you and your family have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort and if you think of more Disney planning questions, you're always welcome to stop back by!
See Ya Real Soon,
Amy
