Hey, Rachel, and welcome to
planDisney, the most magical place on the internet to help you plan your enchanted adventures to
Walt Disney World Resort and beyond. I am so glad you asked this question because I have two friends who are fantastic artists: one by profession and both by passion.
Yes, you may bring your art supplies into the theme parks as long as you do not draw (no pun intended) attention to yourself as though you are providing a service as a Cast Member. There are caricature artists in the theme parks and you should make sure you are not mistaken for one of them. Please review the
Walt Disney World Property Rules about specific items including tripods, stools, glass jars, etc., that some artists use to create their masterpieces. If you are bringing small items then you have nothing to worry about except how many drawings you are able to make in one day. The perfection of paint, pencil, and pen to capture a moment is irreplaceable and I hope you have a few great places across the pond to hang your artwork when you return home.
planDisney Pro Tip: A great place to sketch
Cinderella Castle is to place yourself facing the castle with your back to the
"Partners" statue where Walt and Mickey are holding hands welcoming all Guests to the "The Most Magical Place on Earth." The forced perspective of the turrets at this location makes it look much taller than 189 feet.
Rachel, please
write me back directly with any follow-up questions as you continue to plan your Disney vacation.
Enjoy making many magical sketches and memories.
