It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jodi! I'm so glad that you've come to ask us some questions about your very first trip to Walt Disney World Resort because there really is nothing quite like your first glimpse of
Cinderella Castle with your own eyes. The planning process is where the fun begins, and I'm happy to chat with you about a few things that you can do to make your visit to the Most Magical Place On Earth a bit easier on your daughter.
Jodi, I want to encourage you to look into
Disability Access Service when you're on vacation. A quick conversation with a Cast Member at
Guest Relations about your family's individual needs is all it takes to set it up. Once your daughter has been enrolled, you'll be able to visit attractions and receive a return time based on the current wait time so that your daughter will not be confined to waiting in the conventional line and can spend that time doing something else that would better suit her needs. When you come back to the attraction at your scheduled return time, you'll be able to use the
FastPass+ entrance in order to ride quickly and avoid any overstimulation that comes from a prolonged wait in the standby line. Beyond that, it always helps to have a few things on hand that will keep the little ones busy! Small toys, some crayons with a notepad to draw pictures, and the
Play Disney Parks app on your phone are all great things to have on-hand. You're welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks into the Theme Parks, so some refillable containers full of bite-sized things to eat may also go a long way to keeping the Mouseketeers occupied!
Have a magical day, Jodi!
Jessica
