Hi there, Patricia!
There are a few scenarios that can happen with unused Walt Disney World
tickets.
If you purchase date-based Walt Disney World tickets and don’t use them at all, they don’t just disappear. As long as the tickets are completely unused, their value can usually be applied toward a future ticket purchase. You won’t get a cash refund, but Disney will let you put the value you already paid toward new tickets for different dates. You would just pay any difference in price if the new dates cost more.
If you’ve partially used a multi-day ticket, the remaining days don’t expire immediately. Once you use the first day of a multi-day ticket, you typically have a set window to use the remaining days, depending on the type of ticket you bought. If you don’t finish all the days in that window, those unused days can sometimes still be reassigned or re-ticketed toward a future visit, but that’s handled case by case and usually requires
calling Disney and speaking with a Cast Member. This is not guaranteed, so be mindful that extending any unused multi-day tickets may or may not happen.
For special event tickets like
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, those are different. If you don’t use them, they generally expire after the event date and don’t carry forward.
If plans change, I always recommend checking your ticket details in
My Disney Experience or calling Disney directly. A Cast Member can look at your specific ticket type and help you figure out the best option so nothing goes to waste.
I hope that you're able to use those tickets for an upcoming trip. If you need help deciding on which parks to visit or where to eat, please stop by and see us again!
Toodles,
Korliss
