Welcome, Maria!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I'm sorry that it sounds like you weren't able to take advantage of your pixie-dusted year of magic with your renewed
Magic Key. Of course, life can definitely throw a few pumpkins in front of your carriage, so I can understand it can feel disappointing to invest in something you were excited to use and then have plans change. It's completely understandable to have questions about what happens next, and I hope this information brings you a bit of clarity.
I spoke with a Cast Member who recommended that you reach out to the
Magic Key Holder Services team directly with your question. They will be able to view all of the details of your account and provide specific information and instructions on what options may be available to you. I can share that with a
renewed key, the expiration is extended one year beyond the original expiration date, at the time of renewal. There isn't any wiggle room on that date, unlike with a new Magic Key, where the activation date is the first time the pass is used to enter a theme park or applicable entry into a pay-on-entry parking lot.
Maria, I know that wasn't the concrete answer you were hoping for, but I hope we've pointed you in the right direction. I recommend talking to the Cast Members in Magic Key Holder Services ahead of your expiration date, and I do hope you can find an opportunity for magic before then. If you find your way into the parks, be sure to take a peek at the
Extras Unlocked for your key to see if there are any exclusive opportunities just for key holders. You can easily find this in the Disneyland app by scrolling down on the home screen to the Magic Key Portal.
Maria, I'm wishing you magic in the New Year and hope that before long you'll be able to plan a visit at a time that works for you. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
