What happens if it rains at the park?

Hi, Crystal!   As they say "The Show Must Go On!"   Rain, especially during the hot summer months, is pretty common in Central Florida.   The best thing you can do is plan ahead with rain ponchos and umbrellas.   I always go to discount store before leaving home and pick up a bunch of cheap rain ponchos.  If it rains, we grab one of our ponchos, get out the umbrella and keep on rolling!

Many attractions are indoors, so rain will not bother attractions such as it's a small world or Peter Pan's Flight.   Severe weather will shut down outdoor attractions and parades may be shortened or cancelled.

I like to pack shoes that dry quickly (crocs or flip-flops) and bring extra shoes along.   Washers and dryers are available at all Disney Resorts if you need to toss anything in the dryer after a day in the rain!

Plan to check weather.com before leaving home so you can plan ahead for any rain in the forecast.  If playing in the rain is not your thing, hop on a bus to Downtown Disney to do some shopping, go to DisneyQuest, or see a movie.  Or, order in a pizza and relax in your room!   You are on vacation, so do whatever suits your family best.

Wishing you Sunny Skies while on vacation in WDW!  Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
