Robert from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

What happens if you do not use your ticket in the day you selected ? Does the ticket expire or are you able to use it for your next visit?

    Hello, Robert,

First of all, hope all is well and you get a chance to use your ticket, whether it’s on your originally scheduled date or another date.

There are two things that each Guest of the Disneyland Resort needs in order to visit the theme parks: valid theme park admission (either a theme park ticket or a Magic Key pass) and a theme park reservation. The normal process for purchasing a park ticket online or in the Disneyland mobile app includes the steps necessary to book the required park reservation as well.

If a park reservation is canceled or left unused, the park ticket associated with that reservation may still be valid to use on another date. The period of validity is described in the ticket purchase confirmation email. Standard park tickets are usually valid until all of the days of the ticket are used, until the indicated expiration date, or until the 13th day after the first day of use of a multi-day ticket, whichever comes first. Promotional tickets may have different periods of validity. For example, the tickets purchased under the current California resident offer are valid until all three days are used or until September 28, 2023, whichever comes first.

If you are unable to keep an existing park reservation, you may visit the My Theme Park Reservations page to cancel the reservation. Then, return to the My Theme Park Reservations page to book another park reservation on a different date for which the ticket is still valid. If a ticket is partially used, be sure to find another date within the ticket’s period of validity to book an available theme park reservation.

If a ticket is wholly unused and it expires before you get a chance to use it at all, you will need to upgrade the ticket to a new ticket of equal or greater value before you can book a new park reservation to use the ticket. See a Cast Member at a main entrance ticket booth for more details about upgrading a park ticket. You may also learn more by calling the Tickets phone line or using the Disneyland mobile app to chat with a Cast Member.

I’m wishing on a star that things will work out for you to use your Disneyland Resort theme park ticket, Robert. If you have any more questions, I hope you’ll visit us at planDisney again soon.
