What happens if I moved to SoCal recently but my ID address isn't updated? Will I not be let in the park when they check my ID at the gates? What is being checked when I show my ID at the gates? Can I bring a copy of my lease for proof of residency?

Hey there, hi there, Ethan. Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for asking us a question.

The Southern California Resident Weekday Ticket Offer is such a great deal and I love when they offer special offers like this. I want to share that you are not alone and many others have written in stating they too have moved recently and don't have an updated form of ID. I just double-checked with a Cast Member and unfortunately, you must have a valid government ID to show proof of residence for this offer. There is nothing that can stop someone from purchasing these tickets online, but your ID will be checked at the park entrance where you scan your ticket. If you do not have a valid government ID with a valid southern California address, you would have to go to the Main Entrance Ticket Booths and purchase a standard theme park ticket. This would mean you'd also run the risk of it being a day when reservations are full and not being able to get a reservation for that day and that is not what we want.

Another option would be to make an appointment to get that ID updated and then stay tuned for the next time Magic Key passes open up for purchases again. There is a special Magic Key for southern California residents that is a great deal to allow you to visit many times throughout the year.

Ethan, thanks again for stopping by! I hope you are able to make a visit to Disneyland Resort soon!
