What happens the last day of your vacation with your luggage? We are staying at AKL but our flight will not be until late afternoon/early evening. We are flying Southwest. Is there somewhere to keep our luggage until we fly?

    Hi Shanna,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

This is a wonderful question, and I have great news for you.  Because you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort and you are flying on a participating airline, you will be able to take advantage of Resort Airline Check-In right at your hotel!  At Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will find a desk for Resort Airline Check-In.  Simply go to this desk no later than three hours prior to your flight's departure.  You will be able to check in to your flight, and check your luggage just as though you were at the airport!  Your luggage will be taken to the airport, and you will not need to see it again until you arrive back at your home airport.  Just a couple of notes on this service.  First, you should consider the person who is handling your check-in and luggage to be like a Skycap at the airport, so it is appropriate to tip.  Second, the Resort Airline Check-In desks may not be open all day.  Just be sure to stop by earlier in your trip to ask what time they close so that you are sure to have checked in by that time.  If you decide not to take advantage of Resort Airline Check-In Service, you would also have the option of leaving your luggage with Bell Services at your resort and then claiming it when you head to the airport.  Then you would need to check in to your flight and check your luggage once you arrive at the airport.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Shanna.  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
