Ahoy, Penny!
Welcome to planDisney! An
Alaskan adventure with Disney Cruise Line is such a memorable vacation, and I've been fortunate enough to experience it twice. Although I took a lot of photos, there really is no way to describe the beautiful scenery and incredible wildlife until you see it in person. I am so excited you have this to look forward to in 2027!
Penny, the first day of your cruise will be embarkation day at the
Port of Vancouver. Once you are checked in, you'll wait for your boarding group to be called. Once on board, you'll be able to explore all the Guest areas of the ship, have lunch, and stop by the Open Houses at the
youth clubs and the
Senses Spa & Salon. Your stateroom is usually ready around 1:30-2:00 pm. Activities like trivia, character experiences, and karaoke will be underway that first day, so be sure to have the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded before arriving at the cruise terminal to check out all the offerings. You can favorite your "must-dos" and receive a reminder 15 minutes before the start time. Your
dining rotation and time will also be listed in the app. There is a mandatory muster drill on the first afternoon around 3:45 pm. Each member of your stateroom is required to attend the safety drill, which lasts around 20 minutes. One of my favorite things to do on Day One is the
Mickey's Sail-A-Wave Party on Deck 9, so be sure to check the app for the time and arrive early if you'd like to grab a spot along the railing on Deck 10. And the beauty of the Alaskan itinerary is the day at sea on day two. This sets you up for a relaxing day, adjusting to the time change, taking in the stunning views, and all the ship has to offer.
There is so much to experience on a cruise to Alaska, Penny. One of the unique offerings on these cruises is the Naturalist Talks in the Walt Disney Theatre. I love that Disney Cruise Line brings a naturalist onboard to share their knowledge and expertise on the "Last Frontier." The app will have all the details.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions about sailing with Disney Cruise Line to Alaska, Penny! We'd love to help.
