Hi Janelle and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
As the mom of one in their twenties and one in their teens, I completely understand where you are coming from. We have been in the situation you are curious about more than once. The best situation is if your teens can let you know at least a day in advance if they aren't interested in a particular restaurant. Most
Walt Disney World Resort Table Service Restaurants have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
If no one shows up for a dining reservation you can be charged from $10.00 to $25.00 (or more) per person on the reservation. However, it has been my experience that if at least some of your party shows up - and in your case, it would be half of your party - the restaurants have been willing to wave the fee for the ones who didn't show up. I'm sure they understand that even on the best vacation, changes in plans can happen. Of course, I would be more cautious with any of the
Signature Dining experiences and wouldn't even risk an incredible experience like Victoria and Albert's. I truly hope you will have the same experience!
Hopefully, you and your husband will be able to make the most of the situation and enjoy an impromptu date night!
Janelle, thank you for stopping by with your question. I hope you'll let us know if you have any other questions we can help you with.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
