What happens to my dining reservation if I can't park hop to the restaurant due to the park being at capacity? Does Disney automatically cancel the reservation? Also, would I be charged a no show fee?

    Greetings, Doris!

You are my kind of vacation planner! I'm always looking into all of the details so that my trip can go as smoothly as possible. I'm so happy you reached out to planDisney with this great question!

One of the things I most look forward to during a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort is the dining reservations. There is truly something for everyone at the resort. My personal favorites are the Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom Park, Satu'li Canteen at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Space 220 in EPCOT. No matter what restaurant you choose, you'll usually find something to please everyone!

As you are aware, at this time, you need Theme Park Reservations for every member of your party for every day you are planning to visit a park. Additionally, if you have the Park Hopper Option added to your ticket, you only need to make your Theme Park Reservation for the first park you are planning to visit each day, you must scan into your first park before you can hop to another park, and you can begin to hop to another park starting at 2 PM EST. Kindly ensure that your reservation for the restaurant in the park you are planning to hop to is after 2 PM.

The cancelation policy for many table-service restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort was recently updated to be more flexible. You can now cancel within 2 hours of your reservation time. You would need to do this yourself through your My Disney Experience account, through your My Disney Experience mobile app, or by calling on the phone. You'll want to check the policies for each restaurant as some may differ, but you'll find that most will restaurants follow this general policy. Please note that if you do not cancel 2 hours before the reservation time, you will be charged a $10 per person cancellation fee (this price is subject to change).

If you discover that the park you are hopping to is at capacity and you are less than 2 hours before your reservation time, I would recommend that you call or use the handy Chat With Us option on the menu of the My Disney Experience mobile app. Cast Members should be able to help you. They are great at what they do and if it's an extenuating circumstance, they can usually find a solution.

I hope that I've put your mind at ease and that you enjoy all of the delicious offerings at the resort!

    Eat all the good stuff,
    Matt
