What happens if I have already paid for my entire package and due to some unforeseen circumstance I can't travel? Can I change it to another date if I give advance notice? Can I get my money back if I don't know when I'll be able

Hi Ricardo, and welcome to planDisney! Unplanned interruptions to a vacation are the worst, and I hope you are able to travel on your upcoming trip without any issues. I have some tips and suggestions that will help you learn more about your cancellation window and how you can choose to protect your vacation if something unexpected were to happen.

First, let's talk about the cancellation window for vacation packages. Since this is the type of reservation you've booked, I want to refer to the Terms and Conditions that I found on the Walt Disney World Resort website. If you cancel 30 or more days prior to arrival, you will receive a refund of your deposit and any additional funds paid toward your trip. Cancellations made between 2 and 29 days prior to arrival will see you forfeit your deposit, and any cancellations made 1 day or less before check in will cost you the entire amount of the package you booked. You will also forfeit the full amount of the package if you do not cancel prior to arrival and do not show up for your reservation. Knowing these cancellation windows is useful if you have some advance notice that you won't be able to travel, but there are other options for you if something pops up the week before your reservation or the day you are traveling to Florida.

If you are concerned about unexpected interruptions to your travel, you may want to consider purchasing travel insurance. You can add this to your vacation package online prior to your visit, even if you have already booked your vacation. You can take a look at the variety of benefits that having travel insurance provides, and read a Frequently Asked Question about whether or not you need travel insurance. There is a link in that question that will allow you to read the travel insurance policy and coverage documentation so you can decide if it's something you'd want to add to your booking for peace of mind.

Alright, Ricardo! This information should help you explore travel insurance and know what to expect if you do need to cancel your reservation. I am crossing my fingers for you and hope you can enjoy a smooth, stress-free vacation to Disney World. Please visit us again at planDisney if we can be of more assistance! It's our pleasure to help our fellow guests.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
