Hi Andrew! Thank you for reaching out to planDisney!
There are so many things that I love about the Walt Disney World Resort: the rides, the food, the immersive experiences, and so much more. But the thing that I love the most is the atmosphere that Guests and Cast Members create. I truly believe there's magic in the air and it's contagious. It creates a feeling of belonging and generosity and encourages so much thoughtfulness, including your great idea of sharing your love of pin trading.
I checked with a friendly Cast Member and she explained that the doors to the rooms of
Disney's Riviera Resort and
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort are not magnetic. Furthermore, decorating doors is not permitted. However, if you'd like to add some whimsy to your resort room and display your love of Disney while staying at these hotels, you are usually permitted to decorate your resort room's windows as long as these windows are not altered in any way. This is especially popular around the holidays. Kindly confirm with the friendly Cast Members at your resort what is and is not permitted. You can also refer to the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.
During my vacations to the Walt Disney World Resort, I have found that the real joy of
pin-trading is the interactions I have had and the memories I have made with Cast Members across the resort. You often learn so much about them, about the resort, and about Disney just by trading at various locations. Then, each pin you keep becomes tied to a memory, making it so much more than a souvenir.
Andrew, I hope that you have a wonderful vacation and spread your kindness and generosity across the resort! Feel free to
reach out to planDisney again if you have any questions in the future.
You are the magic,
Matt
