Is there handicapped seating available during Fantasmic? My mom uses a cane and is unable to sit on the ground, wondering if there is a spot where she would be able to enjoy the show? Thank you!

Hi Monica! Welcome to planDisney. Fantasmic! is one of my wife’s favorite nighttime spectaculars. She has a soft spot for Sorcerer Mickey and seeing him take on classic Disney villains is such a treat. I am happy to help ensure everyone in your family has an opportunity to see this iconic show!

Thankfully, the answer is yes. There are a couple of options for your mom to enjoy the show. First, there are low walls or rails toward the back of the viewing area for guests to lean against during the show. While these locations aren't as close to the action as the waterfront viewing areas, they may provide a more comfortable experience for Guests who cannot sit on the ground. One thing to keep in mind: these walls and rails are near walkways so availability and access may be limited, as Cast Members may need to keep walkways clear for safety and accessibility.

Another option is to speak with a Cast Member at the Fantasmic! viewing area before the show. Disneyland offers designated accessible viewing areas for Guests with mobility needs, and the Cast Member can help determine the most appropriate viewing location for your mom based on her needs. For example, there is a limited amount of space in each viewing area set aside for ECVs and wheelchairs. Your mom may want to take advantage of the ability to sit for the show’s near 30-minute runtime. If your mom would like to use this area, simply speak to a Cast Member located in the Fantasmic! viewing area and they will guide you to the right spot.

Finally, no matter which option you choose, I would recommend that your family arrives about 45 to 60 minutes before the show begins to help secure your viewing location. Guests typically are allowed in the viewing areas at this time, so this will help your family secure a comfortable location. Also, if you are watching the first showtime, stick around after Fantasmic! You will also be able to watch Wondrous Journeys from your spot. It’s a nice bonus bit of magic.

Monica, I hope you and your mom are able to relax and enjoy every magical moment of Fantasmic! together. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us again at planDisney!

May you have a magical night at the parks!
