I have a handicapped father and a 4 year old and we are staying @ POR in the royal rooms. How far of a walk is the food court, pool, busses? I am just trying to get an idea whether or not we will need a scooter for my dad and a stroller for my babe! Thanks

Hello Amber! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Royal Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside are themed wonderlands that fully immerses Disney Princess Fans is royal elegance.

When my family stayed in a Royal Room, we requested a room that we an equal distance between the dining and shopping options at the Main Building, the Ol' Man Island Pool Complex and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter via the short walkway.

The Royal Rooms are located on Magnolia Bend, the series of ornate Antebellum-era Mansions that are naturally set in the middle of these 3 focal centers of activity at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.

The walk from the Royal Rooms varies between 5-10 minutes depending on your building and room location. I recommend that you reserve a River View Royal Room as these rooms are closest to the main walkways for access to the areas of interest. In addition, you should make a request for a first floor room to avoid having to deal with stairs for the wheelchair and stroller.

While there are depots surrounding the Resort, requesting a room close to a depot will put you further from Resort-based activities.  Besides, the main building has a depot for transportation around Walt Disney World Resort.

Be sure to check out Yehaa Bob Jackson at River Roostat Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. He is a true Walt Disney World Treasure.

Have a Good Ol' Old Time Down the Bayou!
