Hello, Tina! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. I'm happy to help you get around the Walt Disney World Resort with ease and comfort.
My mom had some issues with her knees in her later years, so she thought going to Walt Disney World was just a distant dream. Fortunately, we convinced her to let us rent her a wheelchair at
EPCOT for a day, and we had a wonderful visit that allowed her to truly relax and enjoy herself. The
push wheelchair worked best for us, but you can also rent a scooter or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) right in the Theme Parks. The current rate to rent an ECV at a Walt Disney World Theme Park is $50 per day, with a refundable $20 deposit. These rates are subject to change in the future, but they should be accurate for your upcoming visit.
Disney doesn't have length-of-stay rentals available, so if you'd like an ECV for your entire stay or to use at your Resort hotel, you might consider getting in touch with Disney's featured provider, ScooterBug. Renting a single ECV that you can take with you to the Theme Parks will save you the time you'd spend renting a different one each day. That means more time for fun!
You'll find information and a contact number for ScooterBug, along with more details about renting ECV's from Disney, on the
ECV Rentals page on the Walt Disney World website. For more on mobility access all around the Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to take a look at the
services for Guests with mobility disabilities page. You'll find a ton of information there, including transportation access and which attractions require you to transfer from your ECV or wheelchair to a ride vehicle.
I hope this helps you have a magical visit to Walt Disney World, Tina! Please don't hesitate to come see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
