Hi Eric,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm excited to see that you're planning a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth during the
holiday season! Between the gorgeous decorations, festive music, yummy seasonal snacks, and special events, you're going to head back home with hearts full of magical memories and holiday joy!
I've visited the parks before with a family member with some debilitating hip pain, and we simply rented a wheelchair to help her avoid putting too much pressure on her body. I highly recommend going this route if you think your fellow Mouseketeer is going to have trouble standing in attraction queues or while waiting at other times, like for Mickey's Mix Magic to light up the night sky. It's too special of a day to worry about being in pain! Most attraction queues will accommodate wheelchairs or Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs), and the Cast Members are wonderful about helping all Guests feel welcome and included, so they'll be more than happy to help you if you have questions about
accessing an attraction.
Wheelchairs and ECVs may be rented by the day, and are first-come, first-served, so I'd recommend arriving early i
f you'd like to rent one. Of course, another option would be to bring a cane-chair or seat-walker mobility aid. While
folding chairs are not allowed in the parks, these mobility aids are.
Regarding FASTPASS, you are correct.
Disney recently announced that the Disney MaxPass and FASTPASS services will be retiring, but new services called Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ will be debuting later this fall. If you're interested in being able to skip the standby queue and access attractions through a Lightning Lane, this is certainly something you'll want to follow as more updates are shared in the coming months!
Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Eric, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're thinking through the details of your visit. I hope that you and all of your fellow Mouseketeers have a truly magical vacation later this year!
Missy
