    Handicap accommodation?

Hi David, and welcome to planDisney!

Walt Disney World Resort is a place for all to enjoy! This means that the Most Magical Place on Earth does accommodate those with disabilities. Let's get into some of the ways this magic happens!

When it comes to parking, every single destination at Walt Disney World Resort has parking spaces reserved for Guests with disabilities. Of course, you must have a valid disability parking permit to use this accommodation. And if you need to get even closer to an entrance, there are guest drop-off lanes as well.

Depending on what the disability is, the Guest in your party who needs a shorter wait time for an attraction could qualify for the Disability Access Service (DAS). You can talk to a Cast Member via a virtual pre-registration before your vacation or visit Guest Services at one of the theme parks once you arrive to see if you qualify. Do keep in mind that, according to the Walt Disney World website, "a Guest whose disability is based on the necessity to use a wheelchair or scooter does not need DAS. Depending on the experience, Guests utilizing a wheelchair or scooter will either wait in the standard queue or receive a return time at the attraction that is comparable to the current standby wait." Feel free to contact Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities at for more information. If someone in your party needs an ECV or wheelchair, rentals are available for guests across property.

AN EXTRA GEM: I strongly recommend that you check out the Services for Guest with Disabilities web page. This will give you a very good overview of what accommodations to expect for attractions, transportation, and more depending on your needs. For example, you will find that every Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotel has wheelchair accessibility, including in select rooms. This way, you are comfortable throughout your days and nights.

David, if you have any other questions about your upcoming summer vacation, please give us a holler here at planDisney.

    Magic always,
