Ahoy Jeff!
Greetings and welcome back to planDisney! I love that you have a Disney cruise planned next month. Even better, it’s a Halloween on the High Seas voyage that you will actually be on for Halloween. A 7-night Western Caribbean sailing on the
Disney Fantasy would be an absolute SCREAM!
Things are shifting pretty frequently, so it’s hard to say definitively what activities and entertainment are guaranteed on a
Halloween on the High Seas itinerary. After all, Halloween activities and offerings are subject to change and vary by ship and itinerary. That said, I’ll do my best to paint a picture of what these cruises look like right now, and hopefully it will be spot on for your sailing.
Guests are still encouraged to bring Halloween costumes onboard to get in the holiday spirit. The
costume guidelines are that they must be family friendly and not obstructive or objectionable, offensive or violent. These costumes are perfect
for the SCARE-a-bration called Mickey’s Mouse-querade. During this fun party, characters will be decked out in their Halloween attire.
Speaking of Disney characters, they will be in abundant supply the entire cruise. Just don’t expect those up close photos or autograph signings at this time. Last I checked, trick-or-treating was replaced by leaving candy in the staterooms for Guests. Like you, one of my favorite events is the adult-exclusive "Halloween Isn't Just for Kids" costume contest that has included some of the most amazing costumes I’ve ever seen before! All indications I have is that this party is still being offered; check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard to confirm.
As far as decor, there’s a ton of SPOOKtacular accents like the Pumpkin Tree in the Atrium and jack-o-lanterns on the portholes. Deck Parties have been temporarily paused, but there are still those amazing fireworks at sea that Disney Cruise Line is famous for! Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to modify or suspend any activities and entertainment. So the better course is just to go in ready to be surprised with all the TREATS in store. If anything does have to be temporarily paused, it’s not anyone trying to pull a TRICK; Captain Mickey is trying to keep the safety of the Guests and crew as a top priority. I find that when I go in with that kind of attitude, it helps me understand if something isn’t there that has been in previous years.
Jeff, make a beeline back to planDisney if we can chat more about your cruise plans. Wishing you a FANTAStic sailing!
Season’s Screamings!
